Toro® Brings ‘Brains For Your Backyard’ to Consumer Electronics Show

For the first time ever, journalists attending the ShowStoppers event at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas saw how high-tech advancements in water management can save homeowners time and money. With Toro’s line of XTRA SMART™ Precision™ Series products, media members from all around the world saw how sensors, controllers and wireless technology can cut a homeowner’s water bill by nearly 35% annually.

• The Toro XTRA SMART Precision Soil Moisture Sensor wirelessly detects how much water is in your lawn, and keeps your sprinkler system from over-watering or under-watering, depending on how much water is already under the turf.
• The XTRA SMART H₂FLO Nozzles and Sprinklers deliver larger, more uniform water droplets to your yard, preventing wasteful misting and fogging. Toro’s proprietary H₂O Chip Technology creates fans of water at 200 cycles per second, while using a third less pressure than traditional sprinkler nozzles.
• Toro’s XTRA SMART EC•XTRA Landscape Timer and Wireless Weather Sensor allows homeowners to create a precise watering schedule using the Scheduling Advisor software program, while the wireless sensor monitors the weather - rainfall, sun exposure and air temperature - to determine the best time to water.
